Paul is responsible for Business Development, Board and member/client relationship-building, and promoting the good name and value of the Association.

 

He joined the Employers Association in 1993 following 12 years of senior HR management service with Data General Corporation, now part of EMC.  He gained Generalist experience in the primary functional areas of HR, specializing in Compensation and Employee Communications.  Earlier in his career, he learned the fundamentals of HR management, working at the University of Rhode Island for 6 years.

 

Paul holds a BA in Sociology from St. Anselm College, Manchester, NH.

Michelle L. Maciel, PHR, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management with a Human Resources concentration from Rhode Island College and is certified by SHRM as a Professional in Human Resources. (PHR).

 

She is a career human resources professional with over 13 years in the field.   Michelle started her career at The Employers Association.  Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, providing advice, information, and guidance on a variety of employer/employee situations to member companies, conducting and compiling various surveys and reports, providing HR services such as employee handbooks, affirmative action plans, employee attitude surveys and HR management reviews. 

 

Since her promotion to Manager of HR Services Michelle is responsible for  providing advice, information, and guidance on a variety of employer/employee situations to member companies.  She continues to provide various HR services and tools to members such as developing compensation and performance programs, serving as the liaison to various federal and State agencies, preparing and maintaining member communications such as the association newsletter and website.  Michelle manages the day to day operation and service delivery of the association services, supervises staff, and ensures the quality and variety of services be offered.   

 

Michelle has worked extensively with small to medium sized private and family owned companies as well as with large industrial employers in the areas of compensation, compliance, and employee relations.

Michelle L. Dexter is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Bryant University holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business administration with a major in Business Management and a minor in Psychology.

 

Michelle joined The Employers Association in 2005 and holds the role of Senior Human Resource Specialist.  Michelle is responsible for providing advice, information, and guidance on a variety of employer/employee situations to member companies as well as developing relationships with prospective members.  Additionally, she is responsible for providing professional HR services such as HR management reviews, employee handbooks, affirmative action plans, and employee attitude surveys.  Michelle is also responsible for implementing and customizing innovative training and development programs for members.

 

Michelle has over 15 years experience in Human Resources primarily in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and benefits.  Before joining The Employers Association, she worked for Cadre Technologies Inc. and The A.T. Cross Company in various Human Resource positions.
